Face Painting at Party on the Hill

Claudia from the Cats Whiskers team was captured by a press photographer whilst face painting at the Party on the Hill, St Micheal's Hill, Bristol this year.  We've been painting at this event for six years and it is always a really fun event with a fantastic atmosphere and great music.

Tom Cruise enjoys a bit of face painting

I'm not sure which magazine this came from, but one of the Cats Whiskers team brought this clipping along at our last training night.  It's great to see Tom enjoying a spot of face painting!

Face Painting at Keynsham Music Festival

This morning I received a page from the Evening Post in the mail.  I'm assuming one of the team has posted it as it came with no note!!  Anyhow, it's the article from the Evening Post on 4th July all about the success of the Keynsham Music Festival and shows Louise from the Cats Whiskers Face Painting team with a rather smart Spiderman! :)

    Snazaroo Face Painting Sticks

Snazaroo have recently launched their face painting sticks, aimed at Mum's and children who want to have a go at face painting for fun.  The sticks are used dry without adding water so are safe for the children to use without creating a mess - and they wash of easily.  Just like all of Snazaroo's products.

Last August I worked with the team at Snazaroo to develop a series of designs that could be created using the sticks and here are a few:

For more information about the sticks go to:
and for the full range of design guides that I helped create, go to: http://www.snazaroo.com/beginners-guide/guides/pf-sticks/

Like our Cats Whiskers Face Painting Facebook Page

It's getting to be an interesting challenge to keep all of the various social media bits and bobs that we play with updated regularly.  They are all supposed to be interlinked - but you know how amazing modern technology is......?  Well, actually it's probably the human element that is the issue. :)

Anyhow, Facebook is on my phone so it's just easier to update with the little bits of information about our day to day excitement.  So if you want to, click on the like button at http://www.facebook.com/CatsWhiskersFacePainting and you'll get to hear about all of our exciting adventures on your facebook news feed.

Our Face Painting designs are in the Chuggington Summer Annual!

The Chuggington Summer Annual was released today and now I can finally tell you all that our face painting designs for this popular CBBC programme are included on pages 124 & 125!

This project was an interesting one, with the challenge of meeting the design brief for the Chuggington Trainees - Koko, Wilson and Brewster, using only the colours blue, red, yellow and green.

Here are the final designs from the Annual:

All photography was done at the studios of our friends Blueskies Photography. (http://www.blueskiesphotography.co.uk/)

    Balloon Modelling for Easter

Last night was our teams balloon modelling training night and we were looking at designs for Easter.  Along with the ever popular Rabbit we tried out a few new ideas.  Len produced a really great Easter Basket that could double as a hat:
And we discovered a design for some really lovely lambs:

I can't wait to try these out in public - they're SO cute!!

    First Henna designs of 2011

Yesterday the gorgeous smell of Henna was wafting through my house whilst I created Henna cones in preparation for an event at the weekend.  Obviously, it's always wise to check the potency of each Henna batch so I made up a small tester cone and Sharon and I had a little play!

Face Painting at Croydon House Community Event

In February, Becky from the Cats Whiskers team took part in a community painting event at Croydon House, Bristol.

Here are some pictures from the event along with words of thanks from Mark Kelleher, Customer and Community Officer.

"I would like to say thanks to everybody that came to Croydon House yesterday to help out with our Fun Painting Day.
The day went as well as planned with the children painting on the pre made boards (and the walls, thanks Kath) and the Face Painter from Cats Whiskers managing to keep up with the constant demands from roughly 30-40 children."

Face Painted British Flags - Step by steps

In February I worked with Snazaroo, the UK face paint manufacturer, to create some step by steps and photographic images for British flags.

Some of these images are now being used on http://www.snazaroo.com/

To follow the step by step for a full face Union Jack have a look at this link: http://www.snazaroo.com/assets/cpcms/painting_guides/Union_Jack.pdf

To follow the step by step for a cheek art Union Jack design have a look at my beautiful daughter at this link:

For the Scottish Flag or Saltire:
    http://www.snazaroo.com/assets/cpcms/painting_guides/Scotland_Saltire.pdf

Here's the step by step for the St George flag:
Create the outline for the flag using a fine brush and white paint.

Fill in the white sections of the flag using a flat brush.

Complete the flag by filling in the cross with red paint.

Happy New Year & Cats Whiskers Face Painting training day.

Yes, I know we are already well into February so this is a little bit late - but in my defence we've had a really busy January! :)

We've been involved with several interesting and exciting face painting and body art projects, all of which will be revealed at a later date!  It's very frustrating to keep it a secret but as soon as our hard work is in the public domain, I will certainly upload it for all to see!!

So, for now let me tell you all about our Cats Whiskers Face Painting team training day that we took part in yesterday.  We have some fantastic new face painting designs being added into the design books for the new face painting season and had fun learning them all yesterday.
This face painting design is our Sweet Heart Mask - all ready for Valentines Day!

We were also playing with our cheek art offerings for our younger clients and came up with a range of designs for Peppa Pig and Dora the Explorer fans.

Another huge event to hit the Cats Whiskers face painting calendar this year will of course be the Royal Wedding!  So here are a few new designs for the patriotic amongst us.

    All the best
