Halloween face painting step by steps
A face painting friend, Cindy Trusty (http://www.cindyscc.com/), has just done a series of step by step face painting designs for her local newspaper in Minneapolis, USA which I thought might be useful for anyone looking for design ideas!
It's called Last minute artful Halloween tricks and shows step by steps of a cat face paint design, a pirate face paint design, a vampire face paint design and a butterfly face paint design.
If you don't want something that completely covers the face, how about a pumpkin princess as modelled by Izzy?

The press release about the body painting made it into the Evening Post on Friday whilst we were away at the convention and I've finally got my hands on a copy! LOL!

We're in the Western Daily Press today!
Last week I did a body painting on a wonderful lady called Jo on behalf of Cancer Research UK. She was body painted with the latest t-shirt design for the "All girls together" campaign for Breast Cancer Awareness.
Today the article and a picture of the body painting made it into the Western Daily Press. We've both been interviewed today and hopefully there will be a bigger feature in next Wednesday's edition too. :)
Here's one of the original pictures from the session, taken by Simon from Blue Skies Photography. (http://www.blueskiesphotography.co.uk/)

Face painting - more pictures!
As you can see we've been busy! The face paint designs are by Jo and Helen from events at the weekend and the painting skulls were part of our group workshop held on Sunday.
Today is the last day of voting for the Summer Free for All competition - but as it's the UK Face and Body Art Convention tomorrow, I guess that the results won't be announced until next week now! Never mind. I'm REALLY looking forward to the convention - as are Jo, Sharon and Nina from the Cats Whiskers team who will be joining me there!!
This weekend we also have a team face painting and balloon modelling at the launch of the Chelsea Building Society branch in Bristol. Go along and say 'Hi' if you are in the area.

Pictures from the weekend
This was a really fun Spider Girl adaptation for a little girl who wanted a little something around the eyes but nothing too girlie!! A great challenge - well met by Sharon.
Still no news about the final voting for the Summer Free for All, but Sharon, Nina and Helen have been working hard to create new and exciting designs for Face and Body Painting for the UK Face & Body Painting Convention Postal Competitions. The theme is Americana - which has proven to be an interesting challenge for our creativity!!
We've been doing quite a bit of Body Painting work recently and tomorrow Helen will be Body Painting for a promotional photo shoot on behalf of Cancer Research UK - for the launch of Breast Cancer Awareness month. Photo's will be coming soon...

Out of 250 entries, Sharon and Helen from the Cats Whiskers team have had three of their images selected to go forward for the finals!!
Here are the entries that have made it through to the final 25.
The first is Sharon's corset design modeled by Rowena and the two pregnant tummies are by Helen and modeled by Len from the Cats Whiskers team and by Becky from Blueskies Photography.
Fingers crossed for the final round of voting! :)
As well as having some of our work selected for the Finalists page, we were awarded some Honourable Mentions (or runners up awards!) on the main competition pages. Here are the designs that won Sharon an Honourable Mention:
These were Helen's Honourable Mentions:
So, out of the nine entries that Sharon submitted she received four awards and out of the six that Helen entered she received four awards! A great result for the Cats Whiskers team - and the final voting is yet to come!!
Freshers arrival at UWE
For the past two weekends, we've enjoyed the company of the Angels at St Matts and Glenside campuses at UWE.
On 20th & 21st we were part of the welcoming celebrations as new students arrived, registered and found their way around campus. Here are some of the designs!
Then last weekend we rejoined them all and painted masks for their Freshers Masquerade Ball.
Great fun!
